Barbara Mary Roberts has been an educator at St. Ambrose School since 1990. She has taught Pre-K and Resource Room as well as first, second, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. She has directed our school plays for many years. Her son, Matthew, graduated with the SAS Class of 2000.
Barbara graduated cum laude from City University of New York with a B.A. in English and has graduate credits from Rutgers University. She earned a Distinguished Scholar A.S. in Nursing from Brookdale after four years as an evening student. Before receiving teaching certification from Kean University, Barbara worked in New York as a Senior Editor in the School Book Departments of Harcourt Brace and Macmillan publishers over 12 years.
A native Manhattanite, Barbara attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and St. Jean Baptiste High School. She currently lives in Howell and is a communicant at St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral in Freehold. Barbara enjoys reading, writing, herding cats, defeating difficult Sudoku puzzles, watching eagle cams, singing, driving a stick shift, losing her iPhone, and making her students laugh. Of all the things she's done over the years, Barbara loves teaching the children at St. Ambrose the most!
